Welcome to Otori Week XXI!

The Otori clan is officially turning 21! Depending on where you live in the world, 21 is a major milestone. It's the age of full adulthood, and in many places, the age you can finally order a legal drink at the Typical Tavern.

To celebrate our 21st anniversary, our theme this year is The History of KoL. And what better way to toast to our history than by distilling it into a glass?

We are challenging you to become the Kingdom's finest mixologists. Your task is to design a KoL-inspired cocktail (or mocktail, for our younger players who have not reached legal drinking age yet and those who prefer to keep their liver capacity free).

The Challenge

Design a drink inspired by anything in the Kingdom of Loathing.

Did a specific Crimbo event leave a lasting taste in your mouth? Do you want to capture the essence of the Naughty Sorceress in a martini glass? Or perhaps you want to recreate the flavour profile of the Grey Goo? The choice is yours, as long as it ties back to the rich history and lore of KoL!

Submission Guidelines

To enter, reply to this thread with your recipe. Your entry must include the following:

  • The Name of the Drink: Make it catchy!
  • The Ingredients: A clear list of what goes into your concoction.
  • The Instructions: Step-by-step directions on how to mix, shake, stir, or magically conjure this beverage.
  • The Inspiration: A short explanation of the KoL lore, history, or event that inspired your drink. Tell us why these ingredients represent your chosen piece of Kingdom history!

Judging & Scoring

The clan leadership will judge all entries based entirely on two criteria:

  1. Creativity: How unique and inventive is your recipe?
  2. Theme: How well does your drink and its explanation capture the history and spirit of the Kingdom of Loathing?
A Note on Real-Life Mixology:
We highly encourage you to actually make and try your drink in real life! Feel free to post a photo of your creation alongside your recipe. However, please note that making the drink in real life will NOT factor into your score. We are judging the design and concept, so don't worry if you don't have access to fancy cocktail umbrellas or obscure liqueurs at home.

Prizes

The best bartenders in the kingdom will walk away with the following loot:

  • Best Cocktail: shrink-wrapped Cup of 13s
  • Best Mocktail: shrink-wrapped Cup of 13s

Honorary Mention prizes may be awarded at our discretion if we have a lot of great entries.
