A brief history
Established in 2004 by player ashamalee (#89522), Clan Otori is one of the longest-standing and most community-oriented clans in the Kingdom of Loathing. Drawing inspiration from the values of loyalty, humility, and mutual respect, Otori has cultivated a reputation for generosity, innovation, and sustained engagement across nearly two decades of gameplay.
The clan is particularly well known for its pioneering buffbot services, which have supported countless players with reliable and affordable in-game enhancements. Early bots such as sneaksie, DragonSlayersAnon, and leethal laid the groundwork, while Testudinata (#537858) became the first post-Ascension bot capable of delivering every buff in the game. Binary (#322696) later joined to expand coverage of Accordion Thief songs, ensuring comprehensive support for adventurers of all classes.
In 2005, Otori launched its first annual celebration - Otori Week. Otori Week is a community-driven event featuring contests, giveaways, and collaborative fun. The event was acknowledged by KoL’s creator, Jick, who designed the exclusive Otorian Battle Scar item to mark the occasion. Otori Week remains a cherished tradition, reflecting the clan’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and player appreciation.
Beyond its internal initiatives, Otori has collaborated with other clans, notably Noblesse Oblige, to host seasonal events such as “A N.Otori-ous Crimbo”, blending festive spirit with creative gameplay. The clan also maintains a strong presence in Clan Warfare, consistently ranking top for victories.
